IAU 50K Trophy Report by Siri Terjesen "The second annual International Association of Ultrarunning (IAU) 50K Trophy World Championships was held Saturday, September 16, 2006, in Winschoten, Netherlands. The IAU 50K Trophy is a world championship combining times from the 50K in Winschoten with a series of qualifying 50K races held around the world, including Australia, Austria, Belgium, England, Germany, Italy and Scotland. The ladies IAU 50K Trophy Gold medalist is Sarah Tucker of Chelmsford, Essex, UK, in a combined time of 7:09:31 (3:32:06 Winschoten, 3:37:25 Boddington). Britain also brought home Silver, in Zelah Morrall of Penzance, Cornwall, UK, who ran 7:10:08 (3:31:18 Winschoten, 3:38:50 Boddington). Siri Terjesen of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, took Bronze in 7:14:39 (3:39:20 Winschoten, 3:35:19 Canberra). Fourth, fifth, and sixth places went to Angie Sadler of Tewkesbury, UK (7:36:48), Louise Cooper of Thatcham, UK (7:41:22) and Suzanne Kelley of Sydney, Australia (7:49:15). The mens IAU 50K Trophy Gold medalist is Dzmitry Bula of Belarussia in 6:06:54 (3:06:51 Winschoten, 2:59:43 Gistel). Dominic Croft of Bristol, UK, took Silver in 6:14:31 (3:08:24 Winschoten, 3:06:07 Boddington). Bronze went to Rod Harris of Nottingham, UK, in 6:17:32 (3:09:01 Winschoten; 3:08:31 Boddington). The mens fourth, fifth and sixth place medalists were Robin Bentley of Winchester, UK (6:29:06), Jonathan Blake of Illawong, Australia (6:34:21) and Ivan Hostens of Belgium (6:43:29).
